Bridget is an ICAN breeder and therapy dog. When not busy raising puppies, she is a reading therapy dog at the library and elementary school in Bedford Indiana. This is her third litter by Jammer. Many of the pups from her first litter have graduated as assistance dogs or are in the final stages of their advanced training, and the second litter is doing well in their early training as assistance dogs. To date, her pups have become part of 5 different assistance dog programs.

Moving up in the world
The pups have moved into the large pool. They seem comfortable with the room temp and are getting increasingly more active. This morning, one of the pups actually climbed up and over Bridget. In the small pool, Bridget's back is level with the rim of the pool, so a risk that a pup could fall out. And Bridget appreciates being able to stretch out. This morning, I was thrilled to see that all the pups have gained a couple of ounces since birth. Weight gain is the best indicator of baby puppy health. Some of the pups have already outgrown their newborn elastic hairband ID collars. I tried using nontoxic pain to mark them, but once again, Bridget was overzealous in her cleaning. So the bigger pups are already in tied elastic ID collars. We continue to look for opportunities to provide private nursing sessions for the smaller girls. On the way home from work, I picked up 7 gallon bags of frozen goat milk from a local hobby farm. One bag is now thawing in my refrigerator should I need to pasteurize it to have ready for some weekend bottle feeding.
